Manual handwashing has varying levels of effectiveness that is totally dependent on the user behavior. Without a standardized process you cannot have consistent results or certainty of pathogen reduction.
To clinically validate that CleanTech® Stations provide a fully automated hand wash that delivers consistent results every time, regardless of user age, language, or skill level.
The purpose of this study was to determine the immediate efficacy of the CleanTech® handwashing system, using one cleaning agent, when challenged with various harmful, yet common, pathogens. We conducted these studies with a 3rd party laboratory, an the methodology used was based standards defined by both Food and Drug Administration and ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials).
The Glove Juice Method is one of the most common procedures for testing efficacy of handwashing products. Sterile gloves are put on the subject after their hands have been exposed to pathogens. A solution is then added to the gloves for sampling that tells us the concentration of pathogens. Then the hands are washed and the test is done again to see pathogen reduction. You can see an example of the sampling procedure below.
With over 30 years of data we have built fully automated handwashing stations that remove more than 99.9% of harmful pathogens in just 12 seconds. We are incredibly confident in our technology and the data we have is the reason for that.
